Abstract
This article proposes a standardized management model for the exhibition catalogs of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Cuba, based on the implementation of international metadata standards that promote interoperability, preservation, and open access to data. Deriving from an analysis of the museum catalogs, a methodological proposal was designed and validated in the context of digital data preservation. Key deficiencies in the structure of the catalogs were identified, including a lack of standardization and absence of interoperability between platforms. The rich international collaborations of the National Museum and its global cultural projection were also highlighted. Implementing a standardized metadata system will improve accessibility, data reuse, and preservation at the National Museum. This model could serve as a reference for other museums, since it strengthens cultural data infrastructure and promotes global access to artistic heritage.
