Abstract
This paper is a comparative bibliometric analysis of the Hispanic American countries and their scientific production registered in Scopus (Elsevier) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during 2015-2022; the study has two parts. The first part analyzes the Hispanic American production of nineteen countries, where we found a strong relationship between the general output of the countries and their population size. It also studies the similarities of these countries by their production: Argentina and Uruguay are the countries with the greatest similarity, whereas El Salvador displays the most prominent differences in the group. The second part delves into the Sustainable Development Goals of social nature analyzing the impact that the scientific production of these countries has had and where Goals 2 - Zero Hunger and 5 - Gender Equality stand out due to their international impacts. The countries with the greatest impact are Panama and Costa Rica, followed by Argentina and Mexico; on the other end stands Ecuador, Venezuela, Honduras, and Cuba.
