Abstract
Se describen las principales funciones y competencias de la nueva figura profesional que ha surgido en el marco de la documentación audiovisual televisiva y cinematográfica: el Production Research. Además de realizar un repaso por los principales roles existentes en la gestión de la información audiovisual de manera sucinta, el trabajo se centra en identificar cuáles de las actividades de estos perfiles son también propias del Production Research, centrándonos muy especialmente en aquéllas que son novedosas y en las herramientas que hay que crear para la realización de su función. El Production Research es un analista, buscador de material audiovisual y experto en la gestión de derechos del material audiovisual.
Abstract
This study examines the functions and competencies of the Production Research, an emerging professional figure within the field of television and film audiovisual documentation. In addition to a concise review of current audiovisual information management roles, the study attempts to identify activities and duties that define the typical Production Research, focusing on those that are new and the tools needed for such functions. The Production Research is an analyst and searcher of audiovisual materials; moreover he is an expert in management of television broadcasting and reproduction rights to the audiovisual material.
