Abstract
THE ARTICLE APPRAISES AN INFORMATION RESOURCE PUBLISHED IN INTERNET USING AS REFERENT THE CONCEPT OF AUDIT. THE RESOURCE IS SCIELO (SCIENTIFIC ELECTRONIC LIBRARY ON LINE) A MODEL FOR ELECTRONIC PUBLICATION IN LATINAMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN COUNTRIES. SCIELO WAS CHOSEN BE CAUSE IT WAS THOUGHT VALUABLE AS AN INSTRUMENT THAT CAN HELP TO ACHIEVE A MORE VISIBLE AND ACCESSIBLE SCIENTIFIC NATIONAL PRODUCTION BY MEANS OF ELECTRONIC MEDIA. IT ALSO DEVELOPS A DATA BASE WITH WHICH THE SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION OF A COUNTRY MAY BE AS SESSED AND WHOSE INTERNATIONAL VISIBILITY CAN BE IN CREASED.THE SCANNING METHOD IN CLUDES A DIGITAL RESOURCES AS SESSMENT. CONCLUSIONS MANIFEST THE IMPORTANCE OF IN SPECTING INFORMATION RESOURCES AS AMEANS OF HIGH LIGHT ING WEAK AND STRONG POINTS IN THE SELECTED CASE WHICH CENTERS ITS ATTENTION IN THE ASSESSMENT OF THE SCIENTIFIC PRODUC TION OF DEVELOPING COUNTRIES, ESPECIALLY IN LATINAMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN. THE PROJECT INTENDS TO DIMINISH THE PHENOME NON OF LOST SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION WHICH IS NOT IN ENGLISH DUETO THE LACK OF PROPER SCIENTIFIC DIFFUSION.Authors:
