Abstract

The objective of the study is to present a mapping of the works that were presented in the epistemological dimension. The methodology used was content analysis for purposes of categorization and domain analysis with three study approaches: 1) Epistemological - to identify the themes of research; 2) Structure of scientific communication - whose focus is on describing year, authors and institutions; and finally, 3) Terminological studies, by extracting from the titles of publications representative terms, to categorize and collate with the Brazilian Thesaurus of Information Science and the Diccionario de organización del conocimiento: Clasificación, Indización, Terminología. The results reveal that the themes are predominant on a conceptual basis, followed by interdisciplinary dialogues; the work is carried out by 26 (twenty-six) institutions with the highest incidence at the Universidade Estadual Paulista “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” Campus - Marilia; and with regard to terminological studies, based on categorization, the terms that prevail in the titles come from the areas of Thematic Treatment of Information and Knowledge Organization Systems, with a medium level of compatibility in terminological instruments.
