Abstract

This paper describes the methodology employed and discusses findings of subjecting the initial proposal of an instrument for analyzing and evaluating school library websites (called pilot instrument) to an inter-rater validation process. This technique consists of determining the degree of agreement on a number of scientific criteria among several reliable experts. With this objective in mind, the opinions of nine experts in school libraries and evaluation of educational websites were gathered. Changes undergone in original instrument design leading so-called “final instrument” are presented, and conclusions regarding the entire validation process are also provided.
