Abstract
THE AUTHOR POINTS OUT THE IMPORTANT ROLE WHICH THE UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL AUTÓNOMA DE MEXICO HAS PLAYED IN FORMING HUMAN RESOURCES WHETHER IT BE IN THE CLASS ROOM OR ON A PROFESSIONAL LEVEL IN ITS DIFFERENT ACADEMIC AND ADMINISTRATIVE POSTS. BOTH THE GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE INDUSTRY HAVE BENEFITTED FROM THIS. THE AUTHOR MENTIONS THE COOPERATION BETWEEN THE PRODUCTIVE SECTOR, EDUCATION AND RE SEARCH IN PRODUCING PRO GRAMS FOR MODERNIZING THE COUNTRY. SHE ALSO MENTIONS HOW THE END RESULTS OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND THE HUMANITIES CAN HELP WITH SOLUTIONS FOR THE PROBLEMS OF SOCIETY. THE AUTHOR POINTS OUT THE USEFUL NESS OF HUMANISTIC REA SEARCH IN UNDERSTANDING THE PRESENT SITUATION IN MEXICO, THE IMPORTANCE OF LIBRARY SCIENCE RE SEARCH IN SATISFYING THE DEMAND FOR SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNO LOGICAL IN FORMATION AND LIBRARY SER VICES. SHE MENTIONS THE NEED TO EN RICH THIS FIELD OF STUDY BY MEANS OF THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE IN A WORLD IN WICH THE PRODUCTIVE PROCESSES REQUIRE ABILITY AND KNOW- HOW TO SISTEMATIZE AS WELL AS RETRIEVE INFORMATION.Authors:
